深击太空船延伸任务EPOXI拍摄的影像发现：哈德利2号彗星（103P/Hartley 2）一如预期般非常活跃，并从这些影像计算出彗核的自转周期
目前太空船即将接近彗星，预定将在台北时间11月4日晚上23:00左右（美国东岸时间EDT 11/4/10:00a.m.）以每秒12.3公里的速度飞掠彗核，届时距离彗核将仅700公里
