去年至今，各家保险公司推出的防疫保单皆创下巨量投保量。根据《远见杂志》估算，近来因确诊案例飙升，出现密集的理赔诉求，台湾产险业总赔付金额将上看600～720亿元。而放眼国际，专门贩售防疫保单的保险公司状况亦不佳。今日就让我们从防疫保单乱象事件，学习保险业与多益测验中常考的单字吧！

「防疫险」英文怎么说？
insurance「保险、保险费、安全保障」，延伸字汇包括动词insure「为…投保」与名词insurer「承保人」、the insured「受保人」。经常与insurance搭配的动词有claim (on)「申请索赔」、renew「更新；继续」、taken out「购买」、apply for「申请」等，都是金融保险范畴常见的词汇。
When travelers take out travel insurance with emergency medical benefits, it can cover medical emergencies during their trips.

现在持续受到讨论的「防疫险」用pandemic／Covid insurance表达即可。保险大致分类成：财产保险（non-life insurance）与insurance of the person（人身保险），日常常见的细项如life insurance「寿险」、annuity insurance「年金保险」、casualty insurance「意外险」、health insurance「健保」、labor insurance「劳保」等，都是多益测验中，金融保险或是医疗保健主题会提及的相关词汇。
policy在财经保险专业词汇中，是「保单」的意思，因此policyholder就是「投保人、保户」，policy dividend代表「保单红利」。但policy在日常生活中最常见的意思为「政策；策略」。

payout表示「支出」，在此代表「保险公司依据保单条款应该理赔的金额」，例如死亡给付（death benefit）、到期还本（maturity benefit）、医疗给付（medical benefit）、残废给付（disability benefit）。关于其他保险金的词汇还有claim「（对保险公司的）索赔」、compensation「赔偿金；补偿金」、indemnity「损害补偿金」、benefit「补助金」、premium「保费」，也都是很值得学习的词汇。

保险索赔的各种说法
「提出」保险索赔，除了搭配动词file外，还可用submitted a claim、made a claim等方式表示。
The policyholder submitted a claim for the losses sustained as a result of the pandemic.
（投保人就疫情造成的损失提出索赔。）
The policyholder made a claim on pandemic insurance after hospitalization.
（投保人在住院后提出防疫险的索赔。）
「submit a claim to + 公司 for 损失」与「make a claim on + 保险名称」都是很实用的搭配。此外，近来新闻也常提及的「理付赔偿」，会搭配pay out与reimburse两字。

各家产险公司的灾难，必须快速止血且合法，有些正调整理赔范围以控制损失，有的则已停售防疫险。
coverage在保险金融字汇中，代表「理赔范围」，来自于动词cover「给…保险；承保」。
There is no coverage for the costs of healthcare in non-life insurance.
