Career Notes: Has played six seasons in the Dodger organization...in 2002, became the first Taiwanese-born player ever to make a Major League roster... recalled by the Dodgers from the 51s on Sept. 9...appeared in 743 career minor league games and has batted .289 (804-for-2,778) with 156 doubles, 131 home runs and 516 RBI...became the second Taiwanese player (Hsin-Min Tan pitched at Single-A in the Giants’ farm system from 1974-75) to play in the minor leagues in the United States and went on to capture the California League and Dodger Minor League Player of the Year Awards in 1999...became the first Taiwanese player to be placed on a Major League 40-man roster on Nov. 20, 2001.

51s HIGHLIGHTS: Chen is the franchise’s all-time career home run leader with 72 and 688 total bases...in 2004, became the first player in franchise history to hit 20 or more home runs in three straight seasons...Career Rankings: RBI (2nd, 235); doubles (4th, 75); runs scored (4th, 233); hits (5th, 367); at-bats (6th, 1,293).

2004: Had three stints with the Dodgers (.000, 0-for-8)...appeared in a total of eight games...played for Chinese Taipei in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Anthens, Greece and batted .423 (11-for-26) with 1 HR, 3 2B and 8 RBI in seven games...appeared in 81 games in his third season with the 51s and batted .289 with 19 doubles, 6 triples, 20 home runs and 65 RBI...compiled 20 multiple-hit games and hit safely in 57 of 81 games...was 2-for-5 with two home runs (grand slam) and a Triple-A career-high 6 RBI against Colorado Springs on May 26...hit a home run in three straight games (June 17-19)...hit safely in 11 straight games (June 13-25) and batted .462 (18-for-39) with 6 home runs...hit safely in 17 of 18 games (June 13 - July 2) and batted .415 (27-for-65) over that stretch...was 1-for-4, HR, 5 RBI against Tucson on July 21.

2003: Appeared in one game for the Dodgers as a pinch-hitter on July 13 and grounded out to third base...appeared in 133 games for Triple-A Las Vegas and batted .281 (133-for-474) and led the team with 26 home runs, 86 RBI and 61 extra base hits...also led team with 59 walks and 84 runs scored...collected 40 multiple-hit games (30 two-hit games and 10 three-hit games)...led all Dodger minor leaguers in games, runs, total bases (251) homers and RBI...ranked among the PCL leaders in home runs (T-3rd), a .530 slugging percentage (5th) and extra-base hits (T-1st)...appeared in left field (104 games), first base (13) and as the designated hitter (11).

2002: Recalled from the 51s on Sept. 9 and made his major league debut on Sept.14 at Colorado...appeared in 3 games for the Dodgers (.000, 0-for-5)...enjoyed a solid season with Las Vegas, to help lead the 51s to the PCL playoffs...appeared in 137 games and batted .284 (145-for-511) and led the team with 26 home runs and 84 RBI...his homer and RBI totals led all Dodger minor leaguers...collected 38 multiple-hit games (27 two-hit games, 10 three-hit games and 1 four-hit game, vs. New Orleans, 6/30)...13-game hitting streak twice (April 21-May 4; Aug. 8-22)...had 3 RBI in one game six times...batted .324 (82-for-253) with 14 doubles, 16 home runs and 46 RBI in 70 home games...hit at a .310 clip with four doubles, six home runs and 19 RBI in 26 games in April...smacked six home runs in a 10-game span from June 22-July 1...started 97 games at first base...batted .287 with 17 home runs vs. right-handers and .285 with runners in scoring position...batted .333 (5-for-15) with a double, triple, home run and 4 RBI in four postseason games.

2001: Split the season playing for Single-A Vero Beach and Double-A Jacksonville, batted a combined .290 with 31 doubles, five triples, 22 home runs and 91 RBI in 128 games…began the season at Single-A Vero Beach following offseason right shoulder surgery and hit .268 in 62 games with five home runs and 41 RBI...promoted to Jacksonville on June 14 and hit .313 with 17 home runs and 50 RBI in 66 games…immediately had an impact on the league co-champion Suns as he hit .357 (10-for-28) with four home runs, 20 runs scored and six RBI in his first seven games…homered in four straight games from July 18-21...reached base safely via hit or walk in his first 15 games at Jacksonville (June 14-July 5)…reached base safely via hit or walk in 57 of 60 starts…started the season on fire at Vero Beach, hitting safely in 16 of his first 18 games for a .352 average with six doubles, a home run and 14 RBI…had a season-best 10-game hitting streak from May 28-June 7, batting .368 (14-for-38) with nine RBI in that stretch…was batting .354 in 14 June games before his promotion to Double-A…following the season, starred for his native Chinese Taipei team which won a Bronze Medal in the World Cup tournament held in Taiwan…in the final game, a 3-0 win over Japan, he hit two home runs…finished World Cup competition with a .429 average, 4 home runs and 14 RBI in 10 games…he topped all batters with a 1.029 slugging percentage and was tied for first in RBI to earn tournament all-star honors…also played in the Arizona Fall League for the league-champion Phoenix Desert Dogs and batted .332 with 5 home runs in 15 games and was selected to the AFL top prospect team...2000: Named the Dodgers’ No. 2 prospect by Baseball America and ESPN.com entering the 2001 season...in his first full season in Double-A, batted .277 with 6 home runs and 67 RBI...batted .344 (33-for-96) with 2 home runs and 15 RBI in April...batted .298 (31-for-104) in July...hit .325 (40-for-123) off Texas League left-handers...with runners in scoring position, batted .338 (46-for-136) with 62 RBI...1999: Enjoyed historic debut during first professional season at Single-A San Bernardino...named California League Player of the Year and Dodgers’ Minor League Player of the Year after batting .316 with 31 home runs and 123 RBI in 131 games...set single-season club record for home runs and RBI...hit 14 home runs at The Ranch in San Bernardino, the toughest park in the league to hit home runs in 1999...his uniform No. 43 was retired by San Bernardino, joining previous honorees Rich Dauer (No. 25) and Ken Griffey, Jr. (No. 24)...became the second Taiwanese Player in United States’ minor leagues, joining Hsin-Min Tan, who pitched briefly at the Single-A level in the San Francisco Giants’ farm system from 1974-75...named to Howe Sportsdata’s annual All-Prospect Team and played for the World team in the inaugural All-Star Futures Game at Boston’s Fenway Park on July 11...joined Major Leaguers Greg Vaughn (1987), Jeromy Burnitz (1991), Ruben Rivera (1994), Derrick Gibson (1995) and Andruw Jones (1996) as the only minor league players in the last 13 years to record at least 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases in one season...became first 30-30 player in California League history...ended regular season on Sept. 1, going 4-for-4 with a double, two home runs and five RBI in 11-0 victory over San Jose...missed final four games of regular season and California League playoffs, returning to his native country to play for the Taiwanese National Team in an Olympic qualifying tournament...went 14-for-28 with three home runs and nine RBI in seven games April 18-25...capped 12-game hitting streak with a 4-for-6 performance in 12-5 victory over Stockton on May 11...batted .400 (20-for-50) during hitting streak with 3 HR and 15 RBI...hit two-run home run in bottom of 13th inning to beat Lancaster, 6-4, on June 11...stole three bases on June 30 in 13-12 loss at High Desert...hit three-run home run on July 25 against Stockton to cap a 14-game hitting streak which featured 5 HR, 16 RBI and 8 stolen bases...hit grand slam Aug. 12 vs. High Desert...named to Cal League postseason All-Star team...batted season-high .347 in July with seven home runs and 24 RBI.

Personal: Full name is Chin-Feng Chen...wife’s name is You-Hsuan.

INTERNATIONAL: Batted .444 with three home runs in the Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand in December 1998...one of the home runs was off then-Dodger right-hander Chan Ho Park, who was pitching for his native South Korea...set a record with four home runs in four consecutive games for the Taiwanese national team in the 1998 World Championship Games in Italy...compiled .425 batting average with 40 home runs and 115 RBI in eight international amateur tournaments from 1996-98...batted leadoff and played center field for Taiwan’s 1990 Little League World Series championship team at Williamsport, PA...Taiwan defeated Shippensburg, PA, 9-0, in the title game...signed by Dodger scout Jack Zduriencik.
